LaVerne Ludwigson

Bloomer LaVerne H. Ludwigson, age 80, passed away Friday, August 1, 2008 at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. He was born March 25, 1928 in Alma WI to Harry & Lorena (Pank) Ludwigson. He married Eileen Sherman on June 10, 1950 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. LaVerne worked as a dairy farmer and a fieldman for Midwest American Dairy. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Church Council, Bloomer Moose Lodge, Bloomer Hospital Board, Bloomer Chamber of Commerce and Bloomer Industrial Development Corporation. He served as a Chippewa County Board member, highway committee member and was chairman for the Town of Woodmohr for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Eileen of Bloomer; two sons Allan (Paula) Ludwigson of Shoreview MN and Dale (fiancée, Donna Alexander) Ludwigson of Chippewa Falls; one daughter: Barbara (Tom) Anderson of Eau Claire; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Tim) Rudawski of Fall Creek, Steven Anderson of Eau Claire, Ann (fiancée, Kevin Urbik) Ludwigson of Hudson & Nicholas Ludwigson of Hudson; one step-granddaughter: Sydney McKechnie of Shore View MN ; two great-grandchildren: Julian & Payton Rudawski; three brothers: Harold (Janice) Ludwigson of Bloomer, Norbert (Kathy) Ludwigson of Bloomer & Pat Ludwigson of Bloomer; four sisters: Ruth (Harold) Boese of Bloomer, Jean (Urs) Meyer of Bloomer, Nancy (Dan) Goller of Cornell & Doris Hasse of Elk Horn; one uncle: Jim (Irene) Ludwigson of Eau Claire; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father: Harry; mother: Lorena; step-mother: Valborg; one brother: Harry Ludwigson; one sister: Joan Ludwigson; step-brother-in-law: Everette Hasse.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer with Rev. Bob Hannemann officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 �" 8:00 on Monday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be designated to our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer.
