Lauren G. Wiederholt, age 87, passed away on October 24, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on September 2 1925 it Aitkin MN to Peter and Bertha (Stine) Wiederholt. Lauren proudly served his country in the US NAVY and then married Carole Peterson on February 16, 1948 in Duluth MN. He was the owner/operator of Gambles Hardware Store in Bloomer and then later worked for JC Penny. Lauren loved the great outdoors and in his free time enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, Nascar and spending time with family, friends, especially his grandkids, great grandkids, great-great grandkids, and his K9 companion: Baby.
He survived by his son: Tim (Becky) Wiederholt in Belleville, WI; two daughters: Kathy (Verlyn) Motzer of New Auburn and Lori (Dennis) Nelson of Bloomer; two brothers: Bernard and Steve Wiederholt; one sister: Lois Sandstrom; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Bertha; wife: Carole; sister: Bernadine; brothers-in-law: Wes Sandstrom and Bill Rodberg; sister-in-law: Betty Wiederholt
There will be a time of gathering on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 1:00-3:00 PM at the home of Lori and Dennis Nelson located at 8791 HWY 64 in Bloomer with a memorial service at 3:00 PM. Interment will take place at the Bloomer Cemetery with Military Rites performed by the Bloomer American Legion/VFW at 3:30 PM. Following the graveside service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Lori and Dennis’s home. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
