Laura Breed

Laura E. Breed, age 96, passed away at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer on Sunday, November 18, 2018. She was born July 21, 1922 at home in Bear Lake, Wisconsin just East of Chetek to Fayette and Elsie (Rinehart) Gillett. She married Clark H. Breed on June 1, 1951 in Chicago, IL. Laura worked as a homemaker and also as a maid and factory worker. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and Legion Auxiliary where she served as Trustee. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, reading dancing and researching genealogy.

She is survived by her sons: Peter (Marge) Breed of New Auburn, Bill (Linda) Breed of Drummond WI and Bob Breed of Chetek; one daughter: Robin (Randy) Bohl of Chetek; one daughter-in-law: Linda (Frank) Starcz of Weyerhauser; one sister: Elsie Wilczynski of Woodridge IL; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Fayette and Elsie Gillett; husband: Clark; sons: Michael Breed and infant, Charles Kailus; granddaughters: Michelle Breed and Stacy Bohl; brother: Fayette Gillett; sisters: Cecelia Breed, Ethel Rathbun, Marion Brady, Iva Plummer, Ruth Squires, Neva Tallman, Delores Hrascinski; special friend: Ben Lannon.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Twin Lakes Cemetery.
