Katherine Ondrik

Katherine M. Ondrik, age 93, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at Hetzel Care Center, Bloomer.

Kathy was born May 8, 1916, in Robbins, Tennessee, and lived in Tennessee in her early years. She there met and married Joseph Ondrik and they spent many wonderful years together. His work in the construction trade took them to many states and they lived in Las Vegas, NV, and Long Beach, CA, at various times. Kathy always kept close to her family, cared for nieces and nephews, was a wonderful cook and entertained frequently at family gatherings. She worked hard all her life and provided Joe with loving care during his illness in the last years of their marriage.

Kathy moved to Bloomer in 1999 to live with her brother, Basil (Bud) and Vonnie McCarty in Bloomer, subsequent to her care at Hetzel’s in Bloomer.

She is survived by daughter: Ruth Resmondo of Plattville, AL, two granddaughters: Randi and Rosie, brother: Bud (Vonnie) McCarty of Bloomer and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Joe; brothers: Harry, Albert, Jim, and Kenneth McCarty: grandson Rick.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 4:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer.
