Karen J. Steinmetz

Karen J. Steinmetz, age 87, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Chippewa Valley in Bloomer. She was born on December 3, 1938 in Barron, Wisconsin to Carlton and Doris (Hanson) Huset. She met the man of her dreams, Donald Steinmetz at the Sundial Supper Club where she was working for her parents. They fell in love, married on May 26, 1962, and raised four children together.

In her younger days, Karen enjoyed bowling and golfing. She was an awesome cook and loved cooking in her kitchen. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomer, was an avid Packer fan, loved watching the Chicago Cubs, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Karen is survived by her children: Tim (Jodine) Steinmetz, Shelli (Jeff) Rogge, Terry Steinmetz of Bloomer, and Kelly (Kirsta) Steinmetz of Conway, NH; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother: Keith (Melody) Huset; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Carlton and Doris; husband: Donald Steinmetz in 2023; granddaughter: Kristen Rogge; and sister Marlene Dahl.

Private family services will be held. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family with arrangements.
