June F. Balow, age 98, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Our House Memory Care in Chippewa Falls. She was born June 4, 1916 in Bloomer to George and Florence (Wiseman) Ronnestrand. She graduated from Bloomer High School in 1934. She married Lester Balow on November 25, 1948 in Bloomer. June worked at the A & P Store as a bookkeeper for 40 years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer and enjoyed music, collecting antiques, socializing with friends and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a special nephew: James W. (Melanie Berg) Madison; step-grandchildren: Steve (Sandi) Stack of Eau Claire and Leslie Stack of Eau Claire; step-great-grandchildren: Andrea and Dustin Stack; goddaughter: Allison Madison of Madison; sister-in-law: Margaret Balow of Eau Claire; brothers-in-law: Wallace Buchner of Bloomer and Ronald Balow of Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Florence Ronnestrand; husband: Lester; step daughter: Judi (Raymond) Stack; brothers: Robert (Shirley) and Frederick “Buzzy” (Leona) Ronnestrand; sisters: Ellen (Ray) Buchli and Ila (Warren) Madison; brothers-in-law: Alfred (Gladys), Norman (Zella), Clarence (Margaret), Earl (Helen) and Lawrence Balow; sisters-in-law: Marie Buchner, Luan Balow and Betty (Art) Gunnes; special friend: Russell Johnson..
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Burial of cremains will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Bloomer Food Pantry.
