Judith Ann Zwiefelhofer, age 80, of Bloomer, passed away on January 21, 2026, at Colfax Health and Rehab.
Judy was born on May 7, 1945, in Chippewa County to John P. and Antoinette (Petska) Dachel. She attended Brush Prairie School and Bloomer High School, graduating with the Class of 1963.
On July 16, 1966, Judy married Larry Zwiefelhofer at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer and together had four children: Kim, John, Joe and Shelly. Larry and Judy worked side by side at Larry’s Northside Grocery and later the Valley Tavern. After they sold their businesses, Judy worked as a custodian at the Bloomer Elementary School.
She enjoyed card making and the occasional trip to the casino. Shopping was another thing Judy loved to do, and she did it with her signature sense of style. She was always dressed to a T, polished and put together. Judy was also the social coordinator—the one who kept calendars full, gatherings planned and friendships thriving. Her greatest pride was her family and grandchildren. She loved showing up for games, events and milestones to cheer them on and show her support.
Judy is survived by her children: Kim (Chester) Syverson, John Zwiefelhofer, Joe (Wendy) Zwiefelhofer and Shelly (Joe) Goettl; grandchildren: Samantha (Justin) Bowe, Mitch Goettl, Jocelyn (Derek) Seibel, Shaina Zwiefelhofer and Emily Syverson; great grand daughter: Daphne Bowe; brothers: Rod (Marilyn) Dachel and Mark (Kate) Dachel; sisters-in-law: Pam Dachel and Joan (Richard) Monpas; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and her devoted companion: Paul Faschingbauer.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Larry Zwiefelhofer in 2000; parents: John and Antoinette Dachel; brother: Russell Dachel; sisters-in-law: Arlene (Gerald) Berge and Beverly (William) LeCleir.
Judy will be missed by her Thursday lunch group and her classmates who regularly gathered for breakfast and lunch.
