Judith C. Schindler, 71, of Sand Creek, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire Hospital.
She was born on October 1, 1951, in Rice Lake WI to Harold and Lucy (Blum) Hughes. On June 27, 1970 Judi was united in marriage to Norman J. Schindler at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in New Auburn and from that moment on they were an inseparable pair.
Judi worked as the Food Director for the Chetek schools for 34 years. Being outdoors was a joy for Judi, so in her spare time she mowed the lawn, tended the apple trees, went to the cabin and took rides on the pontoon. She also enjoyed crocheting, Friday night fish fry dinners and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Harold and Lucy Hughes; husband: Norman in 2019; brother: Thomas Hughes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 9:30 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. There will be a visitation on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer from 4:00 - 7:00 PM with a Christian Wake Service at 6:45 PM. Interment will be in the North Catholic Cemetery.
