Joyce Audrey Saastad (Olson)

Chetek Joyce A. Saastad, age 85, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Knapp Haven in Chetek. She was born March 6, 1929 in the Town of Sand Creek to Edmuarld and Jemina (Harstad) Olson. She married Kenneth O. Saastad on February 14, 1954 in Sand Creek. She worked at Uniroyal and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, cooking, baking and having a full table of people to enjoy her meals.

She is survived by her son: Rick Saastad of Chetek; Daughter-in-law: Annie Saastad of Chetek; sister: Pearl (Harlan) Harelstad of Chetek; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Edmuarld and Jemina; her husband: Ken; one son: Larry Saastad.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek with a visitation one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Our Savior’s Cemetery in the Town of Sand Creek.
