John Rihn

John A. Rihn, age 87, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Care Partners in Bloomer. He was born on December 15, 1927 in Bloomer to Harvey and Pearl (Berg) Rihn. He married Betty Marquardt on May 21, 1966 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. John was a dairy farmer in Cooks Valley all his life. One of John’s greatest joys was working alongside his family on the farm. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors in need. John enjoyed tending to his animals, playing cards, riding motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife: Betty of Bloomer; seven children: David (Rosabel) Rihn, Alan (Cecilia) Rihn, Brad Rihn, Julie (Wade) Hamm, Jerry Rihn, Jeffrey (Brandi) Rihn and Lori (Brian) Pielhop; one sister: Helen Faschingbauer; grandchildren: Tammy Mattieson, Becky and Matt Rihn, Jamie O’Connell, Jesse Rihn, Kelly Hengst, Chelsie, Chad, Chester, and Danielle Rihn, Shawn, Shena and Beth Hamm, Vanessa Helland, Justin Rihn, Austin and Levi Stumo, Zachary, Zoe, Alexis, and Ava Pielhop; numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Harvey and Pearl Rihn; one step-son: Michael Marquardt; two brothers: Arnold and Claude Rihn; brothers-in-law: Gary and Roger Marquardt; grandchildren: Keith and Daryl Rihn

Funeral Services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 10:30 AM with a visitation from 4:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday the 28th at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery.
