John Pingel

John C Pingel age 71, passed away on November 11, 2018 at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer. He was born June 19, 1947 in Chippewa Falls to Orville and Loretta (Riley) Pingel. He graduated as valedictorian from New Auburn High School in 1966 and graduated from UWEC in 1979 where he was a member of The Singing Statesmen. He worked at Walter Brewing company in Eau Claire from 1970-1975 and was a third generation dairy farmer on the farm built by his grandfather from 1989-2006. John married Janet Garvens in 1972 in Waukesha WI. John was always ready to “discuss” politics, the Brewers or the Packers and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, fishing, golfing and a really good cup of coffee

He is survived by his wife: Janet of New Auburn: children: Sarah (Brian) Groskreutz and their children Carolynn and Ethan of Truman MN; Stephanie (Mike) Adrihan and their children Ezri and Alizee of West Allis WI; Shawn Pingel of West Allis WI; Shannon Pingel of Glendale CO; Shelly (Colt) Christianson of Chetek WI; siblings: Janet (Clyde) Allison, James (Margie) Pingel and Joe (Terriese) Pingel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Frank and Ida Riley and John and Elizabeth Pingel; parents: Orville and Loretta

A memorial service will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church in New Auburn at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 16, 2018 with a visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. Olson Funeral Home and Cremation in Bloomer is assisting the family.
