John G. Hyke, age 84, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Luther Midelfort Chippewa Valley Hospital in Bloomer.  He was born March 24, 1924 in Lourdes, Iowa to Adolph & Millie (Marik) Hyke.  He married Goldie Weigel on November 8, 1945 in Elma, Iowa.  John worked as a dairy farmer in the Auburn Township for many years.  He enjoyed farming, fishing, going to the casino & spending time with his family.
   
   
   He is survived by his wife:  Goldie of New Auburn;  four sons:  Larry (Becky) of New Auburn, Jerry of Bloomer,  Gary (Ellen) of New Auburn & Terry “Tubby” of New Auburn;  one daughter:  Connie (Ben) Lewis of Chippewa Falls;  four sisters:  Margaret Fogarty of Naperville IL, Everista Williams of Cedar Rapids IA, Virginia Nehl of Waterloo IA & MaryAnn (Boyd) Bollman of Cresco IA;  one sister-in-law:  Gene Hyke of Cresco IA;  9 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren.
   
   
   He was preceded in death by his parents;  three brothers:  Ray, Tom & Jim Hyke;  one sister:  Betty Hyke.
   
   
   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude’s Church in New Auburn with Father James Arthur officiating.  Interment will be in the New Auburn Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4:00 �" 8:00 on Tuesday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 7:30 PM.  There will also be a visitation one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
