John E. Bitney

John E. Bitney, age 72, passed away at Lake Hallie Memory Care on November 3, 2014. He was born on January 16, 1942 in Bloomer to Gordon and Valeria (Gravunder) Bitney. John married Cynthia Nyhagen in 1961 in New Auburn and worked as a field representative for AMPI. In his free time John enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, polka music and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Cynthia; sons: Mark (Wendy) of Bloomer, Thomas (Laura) of Chippewa Falls, Bob (Susan) of Chetek; Mitchell (Mona) of Norway; daughter: Amy (Dennis) Eliason of Eau Claire; sisters: Charlene Goller of Savanna MO and Cheryl (Jack) Nimtz of Rochester MN; 15 grand children and 15 great-grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his parents: Gordon and Valeria

Funeral Services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM. There will be a visitation from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to the service at the church.
