Obituary for Joanne F. Black

Joanne F. Black, age 80, passed away at MCHS in Eau Claire on February 9, 2018. She was born to Clarence and Mildred (Schroetter) Polanski on July 25, 1937. She married Richard Black on April 18, 1959. She worked as a nurse’s aid for many years at the Maplewood in Bloomer and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. Joanne enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and spending time with her loyal group of friends. Her true pride and joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spoiling and spending time with them whenever she could.

She is survived by her son: Duane “Duey” (Jennifer) Black of Bloomer; daughters: Donna (Sam) Kotewa of Truman MN and Diane Black of Cadott; brother: Raymond Polanski; grandchildren: Amanda (Tony) Fanetti, Daniel (Jessica Calkins) Black, Jeremy (Emily) Black, Kevin Black, Elizabeth and Thomas Kotewa; great grandchildren: Kaylee Krueger, Theo Fanetti, Josh Bresina, Avery, Adalyn and Miles Black; numerous nieces nephews other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Mildred; husband: Richard and sister: Lorraine Moucha.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. There will be a visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday before the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the spring.
