Jesse Shatley

Jesse J. Shatley, age 80, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek. He was born July 27, 1928 in North Carolina to Joe & Zella (Greene) Shatley. While living in Lenoir, North Carolina, he worked in a furniture factory and owned his own septic business. He moved to the New Auburn area in May of 2007. Jesse enjoyed music, playing the banjo & guitar, playing horseshoes, collecting and working on old cars, making moonshine and spending time with his family.

He is survived by one son: Jerome (Annetta) Shatley of Cameron; two daughters: Eudra Shatley of Barron & Connie Spencer of Lenoir NC; three brothers: Harvey, Garland & Wayne all of Lenoir NC; one sister: Margie Shatley of Lenoir NC; 9 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers & one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with Pastor Darrell Robinson, Sr. of the First Baptist Church in Barron, officiating. Interment will be in the Wayside Cemetery, Barron WI. Friends may call from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Thursday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. There will be no visitation Wednesday evening.
