Jerry B. Nelson, age 83, of New Auburn, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at his home with family by his side. Jerry was born on August 17, 1942, in Bloomer, to Elmer Sr. and Helen (Loofbourrow) Nelson. He graduated from New Auburn High School. On February 16, 1963, Jerry married Kathryn F. Gehring at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer.

Jerry worked as a dairy farmer until 1988 and then worked at Jerome Foods in Barron for many years. He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and also spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his son: Brian (Lisa) Nelson; daughter: Renea (Timothy) Nelson; daughter-in-law: Cassie Nelson (Jeff Rada); 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Joan Erickson, Faye “Dickie” (Bill) Johnson and MaryAnn (Bill) Gravunder; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Kathryn Nelson; son: Rocky Nelson; 6 sisters: Donna Kellen, Beth Mares, Judith Mares, Carolyn Martinson, Arlys Mullen and baby Gail Nelson; and 2 brothers: Elmer Jr. “Sandy” Nelson, and John “Jack” Nelson.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Bloomer Moose Lodge. Burial will be in the New Auburn Cemetery. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family with arrangements.
