Janice Rose Turner, age 79, went to her heavenly home on May 13, 2021 at MCHS Chippewa Valley in Bloomer. She was born November 22, 1941 in the town of Birch Creek to Edward and Marie (Stevens) Brummund. She attended Holcombe school but had to leave to help at home, but got her GED later in life. She married Kenneth A. Turner on August 11, 1960 in Decorah, Iowa. First and foremost she was a farm wife, but also worked at the canning factory and Mason Shoe. Janice got her CNA and worked at local nursing homes for 15 years. She retired to take care of her husband through many tough years of health issues. Janice fought two rounds of cancer and chemotherapy and a tragic battle with Tick disease that put her in a wheel chair and then a walker for the last 10 years of her life. Her disabilities never stopped her from doing the things she loved like gardening, hunting, keeping the farm in order and most of all, always being there to take care of others.
She is survived by one son: John (Teresa) Turner of Bloomer; brothers: Edwin (Jackie) and Steven (Peggy) Brummond; sisters: Arlene Schmidt, Lila Brummund, twin sister: Janet (Virgil) Comstock, Susan (Sylvester) Paulson, numerous nieces, and nephews other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Marie Brummund her husband: Kenny; one daughter: Laura Franta and her husband Paul; one grand-daughter: Michelle Franta.; infant sister: Emma Brummund
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Turner Cemetery located on 140th Street in the Town of Bloomer. There will be a visitation on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer.
