Jane M. Boiteau

Jim Falls Jane M. Boiteau,age 76, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family after fighting so hard to beat her cancer. Even when things got tough and she was exhausted; she pushed through staying positive. She was born on November 19, 1949, in Chippewa Falls WI to Kenneth and Rosemary (Peil) Sommerfeld. She married the love of her life; Steve Boiteau on May 24, 1969, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. They would have celebrated 57 years of marriage. Her husband called her “magic” because she always took care of everything for him! She will be deeply missed by him and their children who loved her.

Jane worked as a custodian for the Chippewa Falls School District until she retired. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, UTVing, dancing, going to their cabin and camping on Marshmiller Lake with her family and kids. She loved being with her kids and grandkids any chance she got. She always looked forward to watching volleyball at Loopy’s and having a drink with the kids each week.

Jane is survived by her husband: Steve; children: Tracy (Mike) Dejno, Tammy Boiteau, Travis (Dena) Boiteau, and Troy Boiteau; grandchildren: Brady (Evie) Boiteau, Samantha (James) Gilbertson, Chris (Wendy) Engel, Brock Boiteau, Elizabeth (Levi) Boiteau, Brody Boiteau; great grandchildren: Emmit and Easton Gilbertson; siblings: Tom (Lucy) Sommerfeld, Jim (Mary) Sommerfeld, Dan (Donna) Sommerfeld, Joel (Melinda Walker) Sommerfeld, Rosemary Christianson and Paula Wendland. In-laws: Bonnie (Pete) Emerson, Butch (Kathy) Boiteau, Bea (Rich) Boiteau, Joanne (Bob) Travaglio and Roxie (Steve) Goettl.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Kenneth and Rosemary Sommerfeld; sisters: Janet Bresina and Julie Frank; nephews: Tom Sommerfeld, Jr., Zachary Sommerfeld and Michael Boiteau; niece: Shannah Boiteau; mother and father in-law: Howard and Bernadine “Dolly” Boiteau; brothers-in-law: Howie (Betty), Gary and Lee Boiteau.

Her family would like to thank Mayo Cancer Center, St. Croix Hospice, Integra Healthcare Equipment and her special Sister-in-law, Bonnie, for all their love and support when things got tough.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Jake’s Jim Town Bar and Grill located at 14164 Co Hwy S, Jim Falls, WI on May 28, 2026, from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
