James Frederick Delaney Jr.

James F. Delaney Jr. age 65, passed away at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire on June 5, 2023 due to multiple health issues over the past few months.

Jim was born on June 11, 1957 in Greenville, SC to James and Carolyn (White) Delaney. On June 12, 1999 Jim married Dawn (Lueck) Alman. Jim worked in IT Security for Assurant and Fortis Insurance companies and also for McRae’s Mail Service in Eau Claire. He enjoyed ham radio, N9QFW was his call sign. Jim was a member of the American Red Cross and Civil Air Patrol, the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also enjoyed camping and telling Dad jokes.

Jim is survived by his wife: Dawn Delaney of Bloomer; children: Matthew (Amyee) Delaney, Jenni (Tommy) Bernardson and Lisa Delaney (Ryan McGuigan); step-sons: Brant (Amanda) Alman and Alex Alman (Lizzy Miller); grandchildren: Alexander, Jacob, Ella, Theo, Riley and June; step grandchildren: Rocklyn and Korbyn; sister: Patricia Delaney; mother-in-law: Maurine Lueck; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James and Carolyn Delaney; and father-in-law: Eugene Lueck.
