Howard K. Packer, age 90, passed away on October 1, 2025, at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire, WI, with family by his side, under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
Howard was born on February 15, 1935, in Hibbing, MN, to Loyd and Beatrice (Burlingame) Packer. He was an over-the-road truck driver for Stein hauling steel, ABC hauling rafters and Pentech hauling powerline poles. Howard was a skilled woodworker and crafted many horn lanterns, shadow boxes and wildlife mounts. He liked fishing, hunting and collecting antiques. He cherished the time he spent reminiscing about family history and the good old days. Seeing his family, especially the grandchildren, always brought a smile to his face.
Howard is survived by his children: Ken (Nancy) Packer, Anita Render, Angela Caldwell, Terry (Cassandra) Packer, Earl Baumgartner, Michell (Bruce) Ludwitzke and Tara Packer Radlinger; many grandkids; great grandkids; great great grandkids; and his dog: Chuka.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Loyd and Beatrice Packer; children: Dwayne Packer, LuAnn Phillips and Jean Packer; three wives: Esther, Juanita “Sue” and Bonnie; great granddaughter: Aubrey Phillips; and brother: Russell Packer.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer, WI. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the funeral home with visitation starting one hour prior. Burial will be at the Swiss Cemetery in Danbury, WI. Memorials can be directed towards the family to help offset the cost of funeral expenses.
