Obituary for Helen H. Fashingbauer

Helen H. Faschingbauer, age 88, passed away at Care Partners in Bloomer on Thursday, November 5, 2015. She was born to Harvey and Pearl (Berg) Rihn on November 9, 1926 in Bloomer. Helen married Lester Faschingbauer on November 12, 1946 in Bloomer. Helen worked at the Western Publishing Company, the Bloomer Farmers Store and on the family farm.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. For many years, when she lived in Racine. The family gathered at Grandma's house every Saturday for a home-cooked meal and she made sure there was something sweet for dessert! There was simply no place like Grandma's. Some of Grandma's favorite past times were doing puzzles, canning tomatoes, gardening, crocheting, walking, reading (especially Danielle Steel's books) and baking. When she baked at Christmas, she made everything from her famous peanut butter balls to pecan dreams--enough for the entire family as well as friends. She also liked to shop, but didn't care to drive so readily gave her keys to whomever her chauffeur was for the day..
She is survived by her children: Larry J. Faschingbauer of Bloomer and Judith M. Fredericks of Racine;
Five grandchildren: Jackie (Eduardo) Martinez, Jennifer Pichelman, Joel (Shanna) Fredericks, Candy Gunderson and Michelle (Dave) Stiehl. Eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Pearl; husband Lester; grandson: Tyson Faschingbauer; brothers: Claude, Arnold and John Rihn.
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM with a visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Monday the 9th and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
