Obituary for Hazel A. Everson

Hazel A. Everson, age 86, died peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Colfax Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in New Auburn on March 13, 1925, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Skoug) Harelstad. On June 9, 1946 she married Donald Everson at Dovre Lutheran Church in New Auburn. She taught in Sand Creek for a short time and later became a payroll clerk at the Dunn County Courthouse. Hazel was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Running Valley. She was an avid reader and enjoyed touring around the countryside. Family was always a priority for Hazel and she loved spending time with them. She was a blessing to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two daughters: Deyonne (Roger) Pickerign of Leavenworth KS and Teresa (Lynn) Gilberts of Sand Creek; four grandchildren: Melissa (Jake) Bodine, Michael (Jessie) Pickerign, Jennifer (Joe) Carlson and Kari (Matt) Bergeson; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald; her parents, two sisters: Frances Madison and Ruth Hanson and one brother Art Harelstad.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at The Bloomer Baptist Church with Pastor Eldon Carlson officiating. Interment will be in the Running Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 on Saturday at the church.
