Harry Hilger

Harry P. Hilger, age 84, formerly of Bloomer, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire. He was born October 24, 1926 in Bloomer to Peter and Ella (Albrecht) Hilger. He married Ruth Lane on December 12, 1944 in Bloomer. Harry worked as a dairy farmer all of his life. He enjoyed tractors, especially Minneapolis Moline, and went to tractor shows whenever he could. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, talking politics and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Ruth of Eau Claire; one daughter: Bette (Raymond) Dejno of Chippewa Falls, WI; one son: Jim (Susan) Hilger of Custer WI; three sisters: Loretta Vahlenkamp of Bloomer, Jeanette Robertson of Bloomer and Eileen Hilger of Ypsilanti MI; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Ed, Alvin, Elton, Richard and Bob Hilger; one granddaughter: Kelly Hilger; one great-granddaughter: Emory Anderson; one daughter-in-law: Roxanne Hilger.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. There will be no visitation Friday evening.
