Gregory Peter Scritsmier

Gregory P. Scritsmier, age 83, passed away at his home in Bloomer on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. He was born August 10, 1937 in Bloomer to F. Lorenzo and Carrie (Kuist) Scritsmier. He married Judy McElroy on May 23, 1964 in Bloomer. Greg served in the US Air Force from 1955 – 1959. He worked for JI Case and Sivyer Steel for many years. He played a tuba in a polka band and particularly enjoyed playing with the Whoppee John Band and the Karl and the Country Dutchmen Band.
He is survived by his wife: Judy; daughter: Sheila (John) Gilbert and their sons: Nicholas and Samuel; son: Justin Scritsmier; brothers: William Scritsmier and Kay “Bud” Eva Scritsmier; sister: Joan (Jim) Zenner.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lorenzo and Carrie Scritsmier; sisters: Donna Mantey and Alvera “Veda” Hassemer; brothers: Theron Allin, Sylvester Scritsmier and Jerome Scritsmier.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation one hour before. Military Honors by the Bloomer American Legion/VFW/AMVETS will be performed at the Bloomer Cemetery following the service Please follow CDC guidelines. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
