Gregory P Hughes

Gregory P. Hughes, age 83, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Comforts of Home in Chippewa Falls. He was born December 31, 1932 in Hudson WI to Michael and Clara (Bieneman) Hughes. He married Arleen Morse on October 24, 1962 in Wabasha MN. He worked as a Dairy/Beef Farmer and also in construction. Greg never missed his twice daily walk and enjoyed the time he spent in Michigan and Arizona, feeding his birds and chippies, playing cribbage, visiting the casino and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by sons: Greg (Patricia) Hughes of Eau Claire and Grant (Wendi) Hughes of Freemont WI; daughters: Gwen (John) Paulson of New Auburn and Georgette (Mike) Gust of Eau Claire; brother: Mark (Mary) Hughes of Waite Park MN; sisters: Kathleen (Terry) Dooley of Sherman Oaks CA and Carole Thomason of California; grandchildren: Megan, Nicole, Jacob, Colton, Canyon, Chase, Alexandra and Mitchell; great-grandchild: Owen Howe; special friends: Virginia and Joan; many canine companions; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Michael and Clara Hughes; wife: Arleen; sister: Charlotte Penman; grandson: Gregory Adam Hughes; niece: Anita Penman; canine companion: Arnie

A Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a time of visitation from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM.
