Gordon Edward Steinmetz

Gordon E. Steinmetz, age 78, passed away at his home in Chippewa Falls on Saturday, December 17, 2016. He was born to Pearl and Esther (Petersen) Steinmetz on June 29, 1938. Gordon married Karen Holst on June 14, 1958 and he worked for F & F Shoe Company and the Northern Center until he retired in 1992. In his free time, he enjoyed deer hunting, going to thrift sales, collecting knives, spoiling “Gordy’s Girls” and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Karen; children: Patricia (Mark) Sauder of Chippewa Falls, Barbara (Larry Schemenauer) Steinmetz of Chippewa Falls, Peggy (John) Nequette of Eau Claire, Helen Myers of Chippewa Falls, Mary (Gary) Miller of Chippewa Falls, Norma (Dave Lund) Steinmetz of Centerville MN, Paul (Vanessa) Steinmetz of Chippewa Falls; sister: Vernice Marion; grandchildren: Emily (Alex) Lindau. Amanda (Chad) Valien, Heather (Eric) Warwick, Kat Nequette, Brandon (Courtney Oglevie) Buckli, Nikita Franz, Crystal Franz, Dakota Steinmetz, Tyler Steinmetz, Kyla Bohrman, Hunter Steinmetz, Emma Steinmetz, Amelia Panosh; 4 great grandchildren: Montana, Brandi, Ethan and Abby; mother in law Helen Holst; numerous nieces nephews other relatives and friends

He is preceded in death by his parents: Pearl and Esther; father in law: Howard Holst; daughter in law: Theresa Steinmetz

A memorial service will be held at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer at 11:00 AM on Wednesday December 21, 2016 with a visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at olsonfuneralhomebloomer.com
