Gloria Kohls

Gloria Ann Marie Kohls, age 78, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System Chippewa Valley in Bloomer. She was born on April 20, 1933 to John and Ida (Franz) Lendl in Bloomer. She married Melvin Kohls on November 3, 1951 in Bloomer. She worked as a dispatcher for the Cornell Police department for many years. She enjoyed singing, collecting dolls, traveling to Alaska, crocheting, trips to the casino, gardening and spending time with family and friends.



She is survived by five sons: Paul (Becky) Kohls of Holcombe, Mark (Sheila) Kohls of Elk Mound, Patrick (Thuti) Kohls of Fairbanks AK, Andrew (Milinda) Kohls of Holcombe, Phillip Kohls of Rice Lake; two daughters: Marie (Brian) McMahon of Altoona and Ruth (Jim) Kane of Sheldon; sisters: Lois Eastman and Jean Meinen both of Bloomer; in-laws: Delores Larson of Holcombe, Shirley Stark, Kathy Smith and Alan Kohls all of Cadott; 27 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin, her brothers, Vernon and Raymond Lendl, and son, David Kohls.



Funeral Services will be held at the Bloomer Baptist Church on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM with pastor Eldon Carlson officiating. A visitation will be held at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in Tillinghast Cemetery in the town of Sampson.
