Glenn D. Mattson

Glenn D. Mattson, age 77, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Dallas Care and Rehabilitation Center in Dallas WI. He was born October 20, 1938 in New Auburn to Robert and Ruth (Larson) Mattson. He married Patricia Merkel on May 27, 1961 in Rockford IL. Glenn worked as a mechanic for Nielsen Ford for over 42 years. He truly loved working on cars and was the epitome of customer service, going out of his way to help people. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds and spending time with his family and friends,

He is survived by his wife: Patricia of New Auburn; sons: Jimmy (Leonda) Clark of Eau Claire, Jerry Clark of New Auburn, Jack Clark of Raddison WI, Robin (Cheryl) Mattson of New Auburn, Jeff Mattson of New Auburn and Carl (Wendy) Mattson of New Richmond WI; daughter: Glenda (Jay Olds) Lotts of New Auburn; brothers: James Mattson of Chetek, Eugene Mattson of Chippewa Falls and Dennis (Mary) Mattson of Alamo TX; sisters: Betty Lou Merkel of Rockford IL and Barbara Jeanne (Robert) Metcalf of New Auburn; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Ruth Mattson and one infant son.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude’s Church in New Auburn with David W. Olson officiating. Interment will be in the New Auburn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Sunday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church.
