Obituary for Geraldine A. Mullen (Borofka)

Geraldine A. Mullen, age 87, died on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at MCHS in Eau Claire. She was born on July 16, 1927 in Cooks Valley to Frank and Anna (Hable) Borofka. She married Leonard Mullen on March 6, 1946 in Fort Bragg, NC. Geraldine worked as a Secretary at several different places in the Bloomer area. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, the Bloomer Women’s Club, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary 295 and charter member and past president of Cabane Locale 525. Geraldine enjoyed gardening, needlework, traveling, going to the hunting cabin and spending time with her grandchildren and friends.

She is survived by her son: Kenneth (Susan) Mullen of Chippewa Falls; daughters: Constance (Brian) Saville of St. Louis MO, Sue Mullen of Bloomer, Dianne (Stuart) Johnstone of Chestertown NY, and Carole Mullen of Bloomer; sister: Audrey Stoik of Bloomer; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Anna Borofka, her husband: Leonard and her son-in-law: Duane Ruth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 2:30 PM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. Interment will be in Scandinavian Cemetery in the Town of Woodmohr, Chippewa County WI. A wake service will be held from 12:00-2:30 PM at the church on Tuesday, with a rosary service at 12:30 PM.
