Gerald E. Madison, age 95, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at The Maple Wood in Bloomer. He was born March 6, 1920 in Sand Creek WI to Alfred and Lula (VanGilder) Madison. He married Anna Pauline Bendiksen on June 24, 1944 in Dovre WI. Gerald worked as a dairy farmer and enjoyed making gifts for his grandkids, working in his shop, driving tractor on his farm and having Christmas gatherings. He had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and loved reading his Bible, listening to his children singing hymns, doing daily devotions with Anna, and watching his family grow up in faith.
He is survived by his wife: Anna of Bloomer; children: Merlin “Smiley” (Sharon) Madison of Savage MN, Carolyn (Lee) Ray of Bloomington MN, Carlie (Tricia) Madison of Richfield MN, Homer (Diana) Madison of Colfax WI; Paul (Lynn) Madison of Prior Lake MN, Douglas Madison of Sand Creek WI, Alfred “Al” (Karen) Madison of Bloomington MN; 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
He is preceded in death by his parents: Alfred and Lula; ten siblings: Luella Larson, Norman Madison, Bill Madison, Margaret Dietsche, Pearl Seilheimer, Orville Madison, Ruby Madison, Dora Madison, Roland Madison and Alfred Madison.
Funeral services will be held at Alliance Church of Menomonie on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM with a visitation before the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery in Sand Creek. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
