Gary E. Tozer

Gary Tozer, age 79, passed away at MCHS in Eau Claire on December 4, 2023.  He was born on May 17, 1944 to Elwood “Bud” and Marie (Rihn) Tozer.  He married Barbara Marek in 1965.  Gary worked as a police officer, serving as a patrolman and chief in Bloomer and chief in Elk Mound.  He was also a WIAA football, softball and basketball official.  After he retired, they owned and operated Mounds View MiniMart.  Gary led with service and a kind heart and was always on the move.  He was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Association, the Moose Lodge and his condo association, serving as president for several years.   He enjoyed dancing and traveling with Barbara, fishing, hunting and sipping coffee (or brandy) while telling stories and spending time with his family and friends. 

He is survived by his sons: Tim Tozer of Chippewa Falls and Tom (Robyn) Tozer of Lake Holcombe; grandchildren: Jalen and Peyton Tozer; brother: Bert (Kathy) Tozer of Bloomer; sister: Pamela Haas of New Auburn; sisters in-law: Mary Ann Weideman of Eau Claire and Darlene (John) Wagner of Bloomer; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Bud and Ma Tozer; wife: Barbara in 2021; a daughter in infancy; brothers in-law: Larry Haas and Wilbert Weideman   

A visitation will be held at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 4:00-7:00PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  Online condolences may be expressed at olsonfuneralhomebloomer.com
