Gary Hyke

Gary E. Hyke, age 61, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born April 11, 1949 in Elma, Iowa, to John & Goldie (Weigel) Hyke. He enjoyed his life as a self-employed farmer, working with his animals, collecting toy tractors, doing landscaping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother: Goldie of New Auburn; two sons: Michael (Joseph Mitsch) Hyke of Maple Grove MN & Jonathon (Danelle J.) Hyke of New Auburn; three brothers: Larry (Becky) Hyke of New Auburn, Jerry Hyke of Bloomer & Terry “Tubby” Hyke of New Auburn; one sister: Connie (Ben) Lewis of Bloomer; two grandchildren: Alexander and Violet Hyke.

He was preceded in death by his father: John.

Funeral services will be held on Friday. March 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. Interment will be in the New Auburn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Thursday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
