Fredric C. “Fritz” Henning, age 92, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at The Maple Wood in Bloomer. He was born May 23, 1922 in Fall Creek to Fredric and Leila (Ingle) Henning. He married Arlene Pehlke on April 22, 1944 in Eau Claire. He and his wife, Arlene, worked the farm together. He wasn’t afraid of a hard day’s work and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing cards and reading. He was a huge Packer Fan but an even bigger fan of his grandchildren, wanting to spend as much time as possible with them.
He is survived by three sons: Vernon (Joyce) Henning of Waterloo WI, Rodney Henning of Chippewa Falls and Stanley (Karen) Henning of Elk Mound; one daughter: Nettie (Tom) Morrissey of Chippewa Falls; one sister: Gwen Marion of Eau Claire; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Fredric and Leila Henning; his wife: Arlene; daughter-in-law: Elizabeth A. “Betty” Henning; brothers: Glenn, Roscoe and Leonard Henning; sisters: Gladys Lange, Phyllis Steinke and Carol Bauer.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 6:30 PM at The Olson Funeral home in Bloomer with Pastor Martin Halom from St. John’s Lutheran officiating. There will be a visitation from 5:00 until 6:30 at the funeral home with a private burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Foster.
