Frederick “Fritz” J. Wildenberg, age 75, passed away unexpectedly at Mayo Clinic in Bloomer on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. He was born to Peter and Lorraine (Heidtke) Wildenberg on January 30, 1940 in Chippewa County. Fritz served proudly in the US Army and was a member of the Bloomer American Legion. He enjoyed working as an over the road truck driver. He married Barbara Geissler on February 17, 1984 in Las Vegas. Fritz was a real jokester and loved being around people. His outgoing personality served him well at the hunting shack, the card table and the fishing hole. He loved his family and loved playing with his “toys”.
He is survived his wife Barb of Bloomer; children: Jim Wildenberg of Lubbock TX, Kevin (Joyce) Meinen of Bloomer and Duane (Linda) Meinen of Brooklyn Park; brothers: Hank (Jo) Wildenberg of Eau Claire, Robert (Penny) Wildenberg of Reedsburg, Gerald (Linda) Wildenberg of Bloomer and Dan (Bonnie) Wildenberg of Bloomer; one sister: Beverly Rihn of Bloomer; 9 grandchildren; K9 companion: Pixie
He was preceded in death by his parents: Peter and Lorraine; infant son: Kevin; siblings: Harold Wildenberg and Alice Berg
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Friends may call from 10:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home on Sunday. There will be no visitation Saturday evening. Military Honors will be performed at the North Catholic Cemetery by the Bloomer American Legion/VFW
