Fred F. Smith

Fred F. Smith , age 93, passed away at his home in Bloomer on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He was born to Joseph and Alice (Urn) Smith on December 5, 1923 in Antigo WI. He married Rosalie Bohlman on June 14, 1943 in Eland WI. Fred worked as a Barber and a farmer for most of his life. Some of his life’s joys were woodworking, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, playing cards with his friends and grandchildren and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his sons: Joseph (Patricia) Smith of Cadott, Fred Smith of Mt Horeb WI and Arthur (Kathy) Smith of Cadott; daughters: Linda Meyer of Oconomowoc WI, Ruth (Gary) Felton of Eau Claire, Lori (Jeff) Buchner of Bloomer and Amy (Brad) Oemig of Shell Lake; brother: Harvey Smith of Antigo, 18 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Alice; wife: Rosalie; brothers: Hank, Ted, Louie, and Joseph; sisters: Marie, Betty and Eva; son: Paul Smith; daughter-in-law: Mary Smith.

A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake at 15 E Sawyer St, Rice Lake, WI on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 12:00 PM. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
