Everett Thomas “Tom” Powell, age 81, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at his home in New Auburn under the care of Heartland Hospice. He was born on August 13. 1943 in Ruby, Wisconsin to Edward and Ida (Gerber) Powell. He married Rose Marie Nimtz on June 18, 1966 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. He owned and operated his own dairy farm and enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, camping, cutting wood, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Rose Marie; daughters: Brenda (Randy) Bowe, Lisa Foster, Julie Powell and Amy (Bryan) Vanis; son: Scott Powell; brother: Robert; sisters: Sharon (Scott) Welcome and Racheal (Ed) Pinkham; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Blum and Janice Dulas; brother-in-law: David (Cindy) Nimtz; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild (with one on the way); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Ida Powell; sister: Carolyn Burnell; infant brother: William; in-laws: Eckhardt and Bernadette Nimtz, brother-in-law: Tim Blum; niece: Jodi Blum, nephew: Joseph Blum.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer with a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Gary Hedding will be officiating.
