Evelyn Gotham

Evelyn H. Gotham, age 87, passed away at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer on Monday, May 13, 2013. She was born on July 5, 1925 in Bloomer to George and Ada (Paus) Rehm. She married Frederick Gotham on October 6, 1948 in Bloomer. Evelyn worked as a production manager at Nelson Filter for many years. As a young woman, she enjoyed playing shortstop for the Bloomer’s Women’s Softball team. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and Women’s fellowship and in her free time she enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time with her family and playing board games, especially with her sisters.

She is survived by one daughter: Barbara (George) Bowman of Roberts; two sons: Larry (Diane) Gotham of New Auburn and David Gotham of Eden Prairie; two sisters: Fern Meisner and Gertrude Shipman, both of Bloomer; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Ada; her husband: Fred; brothers: Waldron, Stanley, Howard Rehm and one infant.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM at The United Methodist Church in Bloomer. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 – 8:00 at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
