Eunice A. Dodge (Bollom)

Eunice A. Dodge, age 99, joined her family in heaven on Sunday, July 17, 2016. She was born on September 9, 1916 in Chippewa Falls to Ormal and Nettie (Larson) Bollom. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School and then attended St. Paul Evangelical Missionary Alliance Bible College. On August 20, 1939, she married Lester E. Dodge in Chippewa Falls. She and her husband built and operated Dodge Grocery and later, Pine Harbor Campsite, both located near Lake Wissota. Eunice and Lester (Mick) both played trombone. She was the first girl to play in the High School Band. She continued playing through her 99th birthday in 2015. She also played the guitar and harmonica at the same time. Writing and playing music at the Chippewa Valley Bible Church and the Bloomer Baptist Church was a big part of her life. Writing poetry was a way for her to bless others and express her spiritual convictions.

Surviving are her daughter: JoAnn (Richard) Wright of New Auburn; her daughter-in-law: Jane Lundsten of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, two sisters and her son, Darrell, who died at age 28 and was a missionary pilot in Brazil.

Eunice’s Christian faith became the foundation of a life well-lived with her cornerstone being her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A visitation was held on Friday, July 22 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Olson Funeral Home located at 1516 Larson St. in Bloomer, one block off of Main Street. A memorial service will be held at the Bloomer Baptist Church located at 2620 Duncan Road on Wednesday August 31, 2016 at 1:30 PM. . In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eunice’s honor are preferred and will be put toward projects that were close to her heart. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and the many lives she has touched.
