Eugene "Buck" Oldenberg

Eugene “Buck” Oldenberg, age 72, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at MCHS in Bloomer. He was born October 24, 1944 in Bloomer to Leonard “Ole” & Velna (Rediger) Oldenberg. He worked as a truck driver for many years and then worked at Select Pallet before his retirement. Buck was a caregiver for his mother, Velna, for many years. He enjoyed stock car racing, landscaping his yard, being outside and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother: Velna of Bloomer; daughters: Kristi (Jay) Richardson of Spring Valley, Amy (Travis) Bowe of Bloomer and Lisa Oldenberg of Menomonie; brothers: Donald (Kim) Oldenberg of Bloomer and Dean (Luann) Oldenberg of Bloomer; sisters: Judene (Pete) Friberg of Colfax and Linda (Byron) Motzer of Chetek; sisters-in-law: Linda Oldenberg of Bloomer and Jackie Oldenberg of Bloomer; grandchildren: Matthew and Shelby Bowe, Jacob and Jason Richardson, Austin Coss and Abbigail Fregine.

He was preceded in death by his father: Leonard “Ole” Oldenberg; brothers: Verlyn “Ole”, Ronald “Redd” and Dennis “Snort” Oldenberg.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation from 12:00 until the time of service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at the Bloomer Cemetery. There will be a Celebration Reception at the Bloomer Moose Lodge from 3:00 – 6:00.
