Ethel M. Petska, age 99, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at Mayo Clinic in Bloomer, Wisconsin. Born on September 19, 1926, in Jim Falls to Paul and Edna (Liddell) Reim. She married Russell Petska on July 28, 1948. Ethel was a dedicated cook for many years at the Golden Age home in Chippewa Falls, where she poured her love for cooking into every meal.

Ethel was known for her warm spirit and fiery personality. She had a passion for canning, cooking, and gardening. However, her main love was her family. Ethel cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often entertaining them with stories about the old days, always letting them know how different it was for her when she was growing up.

She is survived by her children: Judith (Roger) Heidtke and Kenneth (Brenda) Petska. Ethel's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Vicki, Staci, Russell, Kristy, Scott, Ryan, Stacey, and Rehannah, as well as her great-grandchildren: Sean, Nicholas, Allison, Zoe, Brittany, Ashley, Colton, River, Hunter, Scotty, Makenna and Payton. Additionally, she is survived by her great-great-grandchildren: Jettson and Tommy and her sisters, Eileen King and Violet Nyhus; daughter in-law: Carol Petska; sister in-law: Rita Petska

Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Edna; her husband, Russell, who she lost in 1960; her son, Thomas; and her siblings: Lauretta Chovan, Evelyn Wallach, Paul Reim Jr., and Rosemary Henneman.

A celebration of life will be held at the Eagle Point Town Hall on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 11:30-12:30 with a meal to follow. Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family. Online Condolences can be expressed at olsonfuneralhomebloomer.com
