Elva L. Metcalf

Elva L. Metcalf, age 88, passed away on September 6, 2025, at Heritage Lakeside Nursing Home in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Elva was born on August 20, 1937, at home in Rusk County, to Otto and Clara (Vetterkind) Klaar. On August 24, 1957, Elva married Eldon Metcalf in Island Lake. She worked alongside her husband at Bloomer Diesel and Metcalf Sewer Service. Elva loved her grandbabies, pets, shopping, camping, fishing, dancing to polka music, listening to Molly B and the occasional trip to the casino in her younger years.

Elva is survived by her children: Wayne (Laurie) Metcalf of New Auburn, Laureen “Laurie” (Tom) Bush of Weyerhaeuser, Lloyd Metcalf of New Auburn and Kevin (Danielle) Metcalf of New Auburn; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister: Audrey Ochocki; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Eldon Metcalf in 2020; sisters: Inez Taylor, Judy Turner and infant sister, Zelda.

A visitation will be held from Noon – 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the White Pine Pavilion in Bloomer. Burial will be at Island Lake Cemetery in Rusk Co. A luncheon will be served following the burial back at the White Pine Pavilion starting at 4:00 PM. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers and staff at Heritage Lakeside Nursing Home in Rice Lake.
