Elmer H. Ferstenou, age 92, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at MCHS in Bloomer. He was born September 10, 1926 in the Town of Woodmohr to Paul and Eva (Reichel) Ferstenou. He married Evelyn Hilger on June 4, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Keystone. Elmer farmed most of his life and also hauled milk for Chippewa County Dairy. He also spent 15 years as janitor for People’s State Bank. He enjoyed fixing and tinkering with his machinery, spending time outside and especially loved visiting with and joking with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife: Evelyn of Bloomer; daughters: Diane (Mark) Yohnk of Galesville WI and Vickie (Dave) Heiss of Star Prairie WI; sister: Dorothy Hassemer of Bloomer; grandchildren: Dalton and Sheila Yohnk, Ryan, Natasha and Kayli Heiss; numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Eva (Reichel) Ferstenou; brothers: Melvin, Edward, Eugene and Walter Ferstenou; sisters: Betty Wells, Helen Anderson and Fern Olson.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer with burial in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Monday at St. John’s.
