Elmer Erickson

Elmer J. Erickson, Sr., age 74, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at his home in Bloomer. He was born February 27, 1934 in the Town of Woodmohr to Martin & Laura (Heiss) Erickson. He married Loretta Taylor on October 10, 1953 at High Bank Church in Holcombe. He worked as a dairy farmer and was a bus driver for 42 years. He enjoyed driving bus, working on the farm, hunting, going out to eat, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife: Loretta of Bloomer; five sons: Dan (Yvonne) Erickson of Prairie Farm, Marty (Sue) Erickson of Bloomer, David (Becky) Erickson of Bloomer Elmer Erickson, Jr. of Bloomer & Dale (Audrey) Erickson of Chippewa Falls; two daughters: Mary (Herman) Woolever of Bloomer & Rita (Curt) Bergeron of Fall Creek; one sister: Marion (Clyde) Shipman of New Auburn; 26 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: LeRoy Erickson & one sister: Margaret Doyle.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Gary Paul officiating. Interment will be in the Scandinavian Cemetery, Town of Woodmohr, Chippewa County. Friends may call from 4:00- 8:00 PM on Saturday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday.
