Ellen Hetzel

Ellen R. Hetzel, 79, passed away peacefully March 1, 2010, at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. Ellen was born on December 30, 1930 in the maternity home of her Aunt Clara Boomer in Oconomowoc, WI. Her happy childhood was spent on the farm of her parents, Celia and Harry Roth in Monterey, WI. She loved all animals and being quite a tomboy in her early years ran the Ford tractor and enjoyed playing baseball. After Graduating from Oconomowoc High School she furthered her education by attending court reporting classes in Milwaukee. Ellen was then employed as a court reporter for a prominent law firm. She married Donald Hetzel on June 1, 1968 in Waukegan, Illinois. They moved to Bloomer where they established an accounting and tax service business. In her free time she loved reading, sewing, knitting, refinishing furniture and spending time with her friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Celia and Harry Roth; husband: Donald Hetzel; brother in-law: Raymond Radtke

She is survived by her sister: Doris Radtke; brother: Gerald (Betty) Roth; nephews: John (Pylin) and David (Tonya) Radtke; Niece: Barbara (Tony) Brockway and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 6:00 PM with a visitation from 4:00-6:00 PM on Friday evening. There will be no visitation Thursday.
