Edna Smith

Edna A. Smith, age 95, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at The Maple Wood in Bloomer. She was born November 30, 1914 in the Town of Anson in Chippewa County to William & Lottie (Hakes) Smith. She married Martin Arthur Gonsolin on November 30, 1933 in Holcombe, Wisconsin. Edna worked as a nursing assistant at the Chippewa County Home, and as a cook for the Cornell School District. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making dolls.

She is survived by two daughters: Charlene (Raymond) Polanski of Bloomer & Susan (David) Buster of Rapid City SD; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Irvin Gonsolin; two grandchildren: Lori Reuss & Polly Rogers; five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Saturday. There will be no visitation Friday evening. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer in is charge of arrangements.
