Obituary for Dorlan W. "Duzzy" Carlson

Dorlan “Duzzy” W. Carlson, passed away at Our House Memory Care in Chippewa Falls on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was born to Theodore and Beatrice (Prill) Carlson on August 17, 1931 in New Auburn. Duzzy married Marlene McDonald on February 20, 1952 in River Falls and worked as a welder for Catalytic Combustion and Phoenix Steel for most his life. He was the custodian at St. John’s Lutheran Church for many years and he loved farming and his horses, especially Clydesdales. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, tinkering, glass crafts and socializing at the local watering holes with his friends and family.

He is survived by his sons: Timothy (Debra) Carlson, Randy (Mary) Carlson and David (Elaine) Carlson, all of Eau Claire WI; daughter: Penny (Mike) West of Tilden; brother: Robert (Joyce) Carlson of Clayton WI; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Theodore and Beatrice and his wife: Marlene

Funeral Services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer in Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a visitation from 9:00-11:00 AM at the Church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery following the service. The family would like to thank Hetzel Care Center, Our House Memory Care, Pastor Martin and Olson Funeral Home for all of their love and support.
