Doris Ranney

Doris C. Ranney, age 92, passed away Wednesday, January, Wednesday 25, 2012 at Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek. She was born June 10, 1919 in Sioux Creek Township to Albert and Lena (Anderson) Anderson. She married Lyle Ranney on June 4, 1938. She worked as a physical therapist aide at Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek. She was a member of the HCE (Homemakers), WELCA, Quilters Group and Dovre Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, doing hardanger, arts and crafts and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son: Allan (Gail) Ranney of Chetek; one daughter: Jane (Don) Norling of San Diego CA; four sisters-in-law: Yvonne, Bernice and Cecelia Anderson, Twila Ranney; seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Lyle; brothers: Clarence, Arthur, Ernest, Willis and Gilman Anderson; sister: Bertha Pierson; grandson: Joshua Ranney.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Dovre Lutheran Church with Rev. Rich Noeldner officiating. Spring burial will be in the Dovre Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the services at the church on Tuesday. There will be no visitation Monday evening.
