Obituary for Doris M. "Dorrie" Arcand

Doris M. “Dorrie” Arcand, age 92, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2013 at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. She was born April 18, 1921 in Stillwater MN to John and Aagot (Engebretson) Einum She married Clement Arcand on June 30, 1951 in Hudson. She worked as a secretary for the Great Northern Railroad and was a member of the Independent Bible Church, the Homemaker’s Club, the Chetek Art League and the Chippewa Valley Art Association. Dorrie enjoyed painting, listening to music, traveling, playing 500, gardening, canning, cooking, bird watching, sewing, doing embroidery, singing in church choir and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons: John Arcand of Dallas WI and Rory (Dorothy) Arcand of Prairie Farm WI; five daughters: Kathleen (Lowell) Arcand-Jacobson of Bloomer, Karen (David) Arcand-Johnson of Maplewood MN, Sharon (Larry) Bartz of Morrison CO, Kym Arcand of Bloomer & Lauralee (Robert) Seidling of Bloomer; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Clement; one sister: June Gerten.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Bloomer on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Robert Koepp of the Independent Bible Church officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s of the Lake Cemetery in White Bear Lake MN on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM. There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Friday.
