Donna M. Marek

Donna M. Marek, age 89, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospital in Bloomer, WI surrounded by her loving family, the soft glow of Christmas lights and holiday music that she so dearly loved.

Donna was born on February 23, 1936, in Cameron, WI to Victor and Lois (Anderson) Javner. Donna married Ray Dodge on September 23, 1954, and later divorced. On July 1, 1961, Donna married Raymond F. Marek at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. After Raymond’s death in 2010, Donna reunited with her first love Ray, until his death in 2016.

She worked in Bloomer at Lee’s Cleaners and The Renegade Wayside. Donna was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer and was a Sunday School teacher, choir director, played the organ, served on Ladies Aid, and volunteered her time in many other roles at church. Donna celebrated the Christmas season year-round with twinkling lights and holiday music filling the air. She loved to ride her motorcycle, bake goodies, sew, knit and embroider. She passed many of her seamstress talents on to her family and will be remembered as a selfless person who always put the needs of others before her own.

Donna is survived by her two sons: Norman (Lynda) Marek of Bloomer and Mike Marek of Bloomer; two daughters: Raylene Anderson of Clear Lake and Donna L. Marek of Bloomer; adopted daughter without the paperwork: Renee Moen; sister: Rita Ackerson; 11 grandchildren: Sarah, Matthew (Mary), Philip (Shane), Jacob, Rebekah (Josh), Abigail (Alek), Devon, Danny (Laikyn), Darci (Tyler), Dorie and Patrick; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Raymond Marek and Ray Dodge parents: Victor Javner and Lois (Louis) Hoyt; and brothers: Norman and Jack Javner.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. As a tribute to Donna, please wear Christmas attire to help celebrate Donna’s love for the holiday season.
