Obituary for Donald V. Postle

Donald V. Postle, age 81, passed away June 24, 2010 at the Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. He was born on December 15, 1928 in Chippewa Falls WI. to George and Beatrice (Bishop) Postle. Don served proudly in the US Army during the War in Korea. While home on leave he married Helen Frenz on December 23, 1950 in Pine City, MN. Don was quite a character and not afraid to speak his mind. He was a heavy equipment operator for the logging and gravel industries as well as owning and managing several different bars on Highway 40 throughout his life. In his free time Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, and visiting with his friends and family.

He is survived by his sons: John (Kathleen) Postle of Chetek WI, Michael (Nancy) Klatt of Phoenix, AZ, Patrick Klatt of Miles City, MT; daughters: Susan (Kenneth) Gehl of Chetek and Peggy (Kenneth) Stone of Minong WI; one brother Gary (Sharon) Postle of New Auburn; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great grand daughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Helen, brothers: George Jr. “Shorty” Postle and Claude “Bumps” Postle.

A memorial service will take place at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 7:00 PM with David W. Olson officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday before the service. Interment will take place at the Island Lake Cemetery in the Town of Big Bend at a later date.
